Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)

Online coaching for individuals with chronic pain in Austin, TX and throughout the state of Texas.

What is Pain Reprocessing Therapy?

Many chronic pain conditions surprisingly arise not from physical or structural problems in the body, but from the brain's pain circuits misfiring. Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) is an evidence-based mind-body approach that helps retrain these protective brain responses, restoring a sense of safety. Begin your journey with neuroplasticity today and create new neural pathways to overcome chronic pain and its symptoms.

Common Questions:

  • Sensory receptors in the skin send messages through nerve fibers to the spinal cord, where sensation is registered. From there, the message goes to the brain where they are perceived.

  • When the brain MISINTERPRETS safe signals from the body as if they’re dangerous.

  • Pain protects us from causing further damage. It’s our internal alarm system designed to let you know that there is a problem.

Unfortunately, false alarms are just as loud as real alarms.

  • Pain = sensation + fear

When the brain believes that the body is damaged, it responds with pain. Fear generates pain, and it puts your brain in a state of high alert.

Fear of pain includes frustration, despair, stress, anguish, anxiety, annoyance, disma,y and anything else that puts you on high alert.

Don't Stess.
Assess.

If any of these apply to you, you may have neuroplastic pain or symptoms.

  • Symptoms spread/move throughout your body

  • Symptoms are triggered by stress

  • Symptoms are triggered by things that are not related to the body or the actual symptom

  • Lack of physical diagnosis
